Composer, singer and guitar player. Branko Galoic is a versatile Croatian musician who interprets the Balkan music, typical of his origins, by adding an extraordinary mix of gypsy, pop and blues. With him the Skakavac Orkestar, an international orchestra made up of musicians coming from Bulgaria, Holland and Czech Republic. To the rhythm of the trombone, trumpet, alto saxophone, tuba, drums and occasionally an accordion, they offer a fascinating and involving show with refined musicality. The lyrics of their songs are written by Branko himself in his mother tongue language.
When he moved to Amsterdam in 2000, Branko met Dragi Šestic, a producer from Bosnia, with whom he recorded his first solo album: “Above The Roofs”. His debut Cd, a collection of songs about exile and life on the road, was a success. It was rated among the 100 best albums of 2006 in the Netherlands by critic Rita Jager in the music magazine ‘Jazzism’ and then released all over Europe, even in Japan, receiving great reviews everywhere.
