They call themselves “A holy band of bandits”, very fast with their hands (manchots), that is testified by the extraordinary speed and skill with which they play their instruments. Les Bandits Manchots are five musicians from France that love having fun and livening up the atmosphere of the places they stop in, playing and singing traditional tunes that in the popular dances of the30s made everyone, young and old enjoy alike, laugh and dance. Influenced by the great orchestras overseas, in particular the “369th Regiment Band” made up of Afro-Americans and conducted by one of the best conductors of Broadway, James Reese Europe, Les Bandits Manchots play in the streets and squares of France and Europe, to the rhythm of trombone, accordion, washboard and banjo offering a repertoire rich in French folk music, songs of the famous French singer Fréhel and “retro” tunes such as “Plus Bath des Javas” of the artist Georgius.
